Overview

八戒肉骨茶 (Impian Emas) BA JIE BAH KUT TEH is a noteworthy destination for bak kut teh enthusiasts and anyone looking to explore traditional Malaysian herbal soups with a twist. Nestled conveniently in Taman Impian Emas, Skudai, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere ideal for families and groups seeking a hearty, authentic dining experience.

The standout here is undoubtedly their signature bone bah kut teh. The broth carries a thick, richly herbal character that appeals to those who savor deep, aromatic flavors. While some diners find the big bone meat a bit tough, the smaller bones and pork tendon deliver a tender, satisfying bite that complements the robust soup. The presence of rare treats such as pig trotter bak kut teh adds an exciting dimension, maintaining the soul of classic flavors with a slightly modern touch.

Complementing the main dishes is a highlight worth mentioning—Chicken Feet with Mushrooms. This delicacy is expertly prepared, offering succulent textures enriched by the earthy sweetness of the mushrooms. The menu is broad enough to cater to diverse palates, including unique options like lala abalone bah kut teh and steamed fish, appealing to those who enjoy exploring beyond the traditional pork soup.

On the side, fragrant onion oil rice pairs beautifully, soaking up the herbal broth’s essence. Some guests note that portion sizes may vary, especially rice servings, yet the quality remains consistent. The selection of snacks and sides, including fried pork and pickles, adds depth and diversity to the meal, rounding out the experience.

Service at 八戒肉骨茶 is warm and friendly, adding a layer of comfort to the dining experience. The setting strikes a balance between casual and welcoming, making it suitable for both quick lunches and leisurely dinners. The inclusion of jasmine tea, perfect for sharing, further enhances the traditional feel.

Overall, 八戒肉骨茶 (Impian Emas) stands out for those seeking authentic herbal bak kut teh with thoughtful variations. Its extensive menu, flavorful broth, and inviting location create a dining experience that respects tradition while catering to a modern palate. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this spot is well worth a visit to savor Malaysia’s beloved comfort food at its flavorful best.

Ordered the signature big bone BKT. Herbal soup is tasty but i find the big bone meat is quite rough and tough. Maybe should have ordered the small bone. Pork tendon is good too but portion quite small. Ladies finger and salted vege also good. Pot of Jasmine tea at RM6 good for sharing.

The soup bak kut teh tastes normal, the herbs flavour is not strong enough. The dry one tastes good, quite recommend this. The portion of the rice is too small even the I ordered the large rice.

Very thick broth, just the way I liked it. But a little bit too salty and some of the meat might be a little too dry. Overall I do recommend to come and try.
